Global warming issues are coming more and more to the forefront. There is so much waste of our resources in advertising, especially in the real estate industry, that I have decided to further lessen the environmental footprint of my business by no longer sending out non-addressed ad mail. SELINA’S INDUCTION INTO THE RE/MAX HALL OF FAME FEBRUARY 2008
GRANT THRESHOLD INCREASE GOOD FOR HOMEOWNERS
Usually I am not one to `toot my own horn` about my accomplishments, allowing instead the noteworthy high percentage of my clients who are referrals (a record 89% in 2007!) to illustrate the consistency in my quality of performance and personal integrity. However I am pleased to share that my achievements over the past 15 years have now been recognized by my acceptance into RE/MAX International’s Hall of Fame as of this month.
Vancouver, BC – January 11, 2008. Increasing the Home Owner Grant threshold to $1,050,000 from $950,000 in assessed value is good for homeowners and communities across BC. “The real estate profession is pleased to see the government stand by its goal to ensure that 95 per cent of homeowners qualify for the basic grant,” said Andrew Peck, President of the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA).

Pent-up demand, population growth, tight inventory levels, and the longest economic expansion since World War II collectively fueled one of the best decades on record for residential real estate in Canada, according to a report released by RE/MAX. RE/MAX Decade in Review 1997 - 2007 found that major housing centres across the country experienced strong consecutive growth between 1997 and 2007. Average price spiraled upward while unit sales climbed

CONDOMINIUM BUYER CHECKLIST
KICK DOWN YOUR MORTGAGE IN SIX STEPS
Here is a list of questions to ask yourself before you buy. It is often useful to “score” each condominium you consider. First, give each question below an importance rating based on your wish list, with 10 being very important and 0 not important at all.
Whether you’re a first-time buyer or refinancing your home, you’ll want to save money on mortgage payments. These tips will help you. 1. Shop around To get the best rate, shop around. SELLING ON YOUR OWN? READ THIS FIRST!
WHAT DO I OWN WHEN I BUY A CONDOMINIUM?
Going it alone? With over 85% of buyers now using the internet to search for a home, more than ever, homeowners are considering the option of selling their home on their own. Before you decide to take on the legally complicated process of selling your own home in today’s highly competitive market, here are a few realities to consider:
When you buy a condominium, you own your unit, as well as a percentage of the common property elements allocated to the unit. The boundaries of each individual unit and the percentage of common elements you own may vary from condominium to condominium, depending on how they are specified in the condominium's governing documents.
